Hazel Hussey Pilates together with Gerrards Cross Golf Club run members only 'Pilates for Golf' classes in the club house.
All members of the club are welcome to book a place on the classes, as space allows.
What to expect: There is a maximum of 12 clients per class to allow for individual attention to ensure you get the most out of your Pilates workout.
The classes focus on improving the flexibility of the hips, shoulders and spine, as well as strengthening the core muscles.
The classes are mat-based and vary each week by using different pieces of small equipment such as the flax-band, and mini-stability ball.
Results and Benefits: Pilates can help to prevent golf related injuries. Golf stresses one side of the body more than the other which can lead to injuries. Pilates can prevent this from happening by eradicating postural and muscular imbalances. Pilates can also help to improve you game. Increased flexibility of the hips, shoulders and spine, and improved core stability can help to improve you golf swing and drive.
What to Wear: All equipment is provided so all you need to bring is yourself and a bottle of water. You will want to wear something that is comfortable and easy to move in. It is a,so a good idea to wear layers as some exercises will work you harder than others.
You do not need sports shoes as the exercises are performed wearing socks or barefooted.
